File In Section: 8 - Chassis/Body Electrical
Bulletin No. 43-81-33
Date: December, 1994

Subject:
Headlamps/Parklamps Remain On when the Twilight Sentinel (T82) or Daytime Running Lamps (T61) are Enabled, the Ignition Switch is Turned Off and the Vehicle is Not in Park

Models:
1995 Buick LeSabre, Park Avenue
1995 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight, Ninety Eight 1995 Pontiac Bonneville

Some owners may comment that the headlamps/parklamps do not go out when the twilight sentinel is enabled and the ignition switch is turned "OFF" before placing vehicle in "PARK". This is a normal function of the lamp control module and does not represent a failure with the module.

To verify that the lamp control module is operating properly. perform the following steps:

1. Engage parking brake.
2. Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
3. Activate the twilight sentinel.
4. Cover photocell.
5. Verify that the headlamps/parklamps are on.
6. With the engine running. place gear selector out of "PARK".
7. Turn ignition switch to "OFF" (the headlamps/parklamps should still be on).
8. Place vehicle in "PARK".
9. Turn off the twilight sentinel.

The headlamps/parklamps should go out. If the headlamps/parklamps remain on, refer to the following bulletins:
