Fuel Tank Replacement

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and personal injury, always follow the proper procedure for disconnecting and connecting fuel pipe quick connect fittings. This will ensure good connections and prevent possible fuel leaks. Safety glasses must be worn when using compressed air, as flying dirt particles may cause eye injury.


REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. All fuel in the tank.
2. Sender assembly wire, tank filler and vent hoses.
3. Fuel pipe connectors.
4. Support fuel tank and disconnect the two fuel tank retaining straps.
5. Lower exhaust at rear hanger.
6. Tank from vehicle.
7. Sender assembly.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Sender assembly. Always replace O-ring when tank unit has been removed.
2. Fuel tank to vehicle. Connect the two fuel tank retaining straps.
3. Raise exhaust into installed position.
4. Fuel pipe connectors.
5. Sender assembly wire, tank filler and vent hoses.
6. Refill tank with suitable fuel, start engine and check for any fuel leakage.
