Crankshaft Main Bearing
MAIN BOLTS
Start main bolts by hand. Make sure bottom of cap is parallel to bottom of channel. Torque all caps in equal increments. Do not tighten one cap completely at a time. Tighten caps to 70 N.m (51.80 ft. lb.) to fully seat caps. Loosen bolts 360° counter clock wise, then torque bolts to 20 N.m (14.80 ft. lb.), then 40 N.m (29.60 ft. lb.). Using J 36660, tighten bolts in steps: 35° + 35° + 35° for a total of 105°.
SIDE MAIN BOLTS
Tighten side bolts to 15 N.m (11.10 ft. lb.) + 45°.
