Compressor Replacement
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Recover refrigerant.
4. Right engine cooling fan electrical connector and cooling fan.
5. Coolant recovery reservoir and position aside.
6. Serpentine drive belt.
7. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
8. Right engine splash shield.
9. Engine harness retainer near radiator.
10. Electrical connections from the compressor.
11. Compressor hose assembly from the rear of the compressor.
12. Compressor bracket brace
13. Compressor mounting bolts and compressor.
14. Bracket-to-engine bolts and bracket (if necessary).
Install or Connect
1. Bracket and retaining bolts (if removed).
Tighten
^ Bolts to 90 Mm (67 lb. ft.).
2. Compressor to bracket.
3. Front compressor bolts.
Tighten
^ Bolts to 53 Nm (39 lb. ft.).
4. Rear compressor bolts.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 31 Nm (23 lb. ft.).
5. Compressor bracket brace, nut and bolt.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 26 Nm (19 lb. ft.).
^ Nut to 33 Nm (24 lb. ft.).
6. Compressor hose assembly to compressor using new sealing washers.
Tighten
^ Nut to 33 Nm (24 lb. ft.).
7. Compressor electrical connectors.
8. Engine wiring harness retainer near radiator.
9. Right engine splash shield.
10. Lower vehicle.
11. Serpentine drive belt.
12. Coolant recovery tank.
13. Evacuate, charge and leak test system.
14. Battery negative cable.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
15. Air cleaner and duct assembly
Tighten
^ Bolts to 5 Nm (44 lb. in.).
