Starter Motor: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Disconnect starter wiring.
4. Remove flywheel inspection cover attaching bolts, then the cover.
5. Remove starter to engine attaching bolts, then the starter.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque starter to engine bolts to 32 ft. lbs.
b. Torque nut on solenoid battery terminal to 12 ft. lbs.
c. Torque nut on solenoid "S terminal to 22 inch lbs.
d. Torque flywheel inspection cover bolts to 62 inch lbs.
