Troubleshooting Hints - Blower Controls

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
(Perform before beginning System Diagnosis)

1. If the Blower Motor does not operate, check the HTR-A/C Fuse by visual inspection.

2. If the Bldwer Motor does not operate, check that ground G100 and G109 are clean and tight.

3. If the Blower Motor runs all of the time with the Ignition Switch in "OFF," replace the High Blower Relay.

4. If the Blower Motor runs with the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and the Mode Selector "OFF," replace the Mode Selector.

5. Replace the Mode Selector if the Blower Motor runs with the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and the Mode Selector in one but not all of the following modes: VENT, BI-LEV, HEAT, DEFOG and DEF, MAX and A/C.

^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check.

^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
