Transmission Range Switch:

OPERATION
The Shift Indicator (PRNDL) inputs from the transmission range switch indicate to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) which gear the transaxle selector lever has selected. This information is used for timing, canister purge and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve operation.

NOTE: Vehicle should not be driven with transmission range switch disconnected, as the idle quality will be affected.
