Water Deflector Description

Waterproof deflectors are used to seal the front and rear door inner panels and prevent entry of water into the body. The deflector is secured by a hot adhesive melt sealing material. Whenever work is performed where the water deflector has been disturbed, the deflector must be resealed to prevent waterleaks. For service sealing, strip caulking is recommended if additional sealing material is required.

When access to the inner panel is required to perform service operations, the deflector may be completely or partially detached from the inner panel. If the existing water deflector is damaged so that it will not seal the door properly, replacement is required. Water deflector roll stock is available as a service part.
