Regulator Tape

Tape Length For Window Regulators:
Remove or Disconnect
1. Water deflector.
2. Raise window to full-up position and secure to door frame using masking tape.
3. Sash bolts.
4. Using regulator handle or motor (if electric), position sash to center of large access bole.
5. Insert thin, flat-bladed screwdriver into slot at top of guide. Press down on screwdriver and pull forward to disengage block from guide. Using thumb, push up on guide to remove guide from block Remove block from tape and let guide and sash drop to bottom of door.
6. Tape from tabs using flat-bladed screwdriver.
7. Use crank handle or run regulator motor (if electric) to remove tape from regulator.
Install or Connect
1. Cut service tape to length needed.
2. Insert tape into "fishmouth" of regulator to attach to gear. Use handle or motor (if electric) to run tape through regulator. Position end of tape to center of access hole. Last hole on tape must fit over last tab on regulator housing. This is required for proper glass travel.
3. Tape to regulator tabs.
4. Raise guide and sash above end of tape. Install block to tape with flat end at bottom. Lower guide and snap over block.
5. Position regulator sash to lower sash and install sash bolts.
Tighten
^ Bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb. in.).
6. Masking tape from glass. Check window operation for full-up and down travel.
7. Water deflector.
