Troubleshooting Hints
1. Check Gauges Fuse by visual inspection2. Check that G202 is clean and tight.
3. Check brake fluid.
4. If brake fluid is low and the "BRAKE" Warning Indicator does not light, check the Brake Fluid Level Indicator Sensor.
5. If equipped with Antilock Brakes and "BRAKE" Warning Indicator is lit, check for trouble codes. Refer to Antilock Brakes System.
6. If equipped with Daytime Running Lamps and "BRAKE" Warning Indicator does not light with Park Brake set, check CKT 33, CKT 1134 and Park Brake Switch for an open or short to B+. If OK, replace the DRL Module.
7. If the "BRAKE" Warning Indicator does not light at all, check:
- "Brake" Warning Indicator bulb for an open.
- Instrument Cluster printed circuit for an open.
- CKT 33 for an open.
- Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected .These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
- Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (see Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
- Refer to System Diagnosis.
