FRONT
Refer to Figs. 12 through 15 during the following procedure.
Fixed Column
1. Remove ignition and dimmer switches as outlined under Starting and Charging/Starting System/Ignition Switch/Service and Repair. Service and Repair
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove shaft lock cover, then shaft retaining ring using tool No. J 23653-C, or equivalent, to push down shaft lock. Dispose of ring.
4. Remove shaft lock, then turn signal cancelling cam assembly.
5. Remove upper bearing spring and thrust washer.
6. Turn lever to "Right" position, then remove multi-function lever and hazard knob assembly.
7. Remove screw and switch arm, then multi-function switch screws.
8. Remove switch assembly as follows:
a. Disconnect switch connector from bulkhead connector and wire harness strap.
b. Remove wiring protector.
c. Remove key from lock cylinder set, then buzzer switch assembly.
d. Reinsert key into lock cylinder, then turn to "Lock" position.
e. Remove lock retaining screw, then lock cylinder set.
9. Reverse procedure to install

Tilt Column
1. Remove ignition lock as outlined under Starting and Charging/Starting System/Ignition Lock/Service and Repair. Service and Repair
2. Refer to Fig. 16 for wiper switch replacement.
REAR
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove lefthand trim panel, then right side switch trim cover.
3. Remove switch attaching screws, then switch.
4. Reverse procedure to install.
