Rear Glass Release

The Endgate Window Release can be activated from within the vehicle by pressing the Endgate Window Release Switch in the Accessory Switch Panel. The Endgate Window can also be released from outside the vehicle by using the Endgate Upper Latch Switch when the Endgate is unlocked.

Battery voltage is applied, at all times, to the normally open contacts of the Endgate Window Release Relay from I/P Fuse #29. With the Endgate Window Release Switch or the Endgate Upper Latch Switch and Endgate Lock Switch closed, voltage from I/P Fuse #29 is applied to the coil of the Endgate Window Release Relay.

The coil of the relay receives a ground through the Backup Lamp and Park/Neutral Position Switch at G104. Thus, the Endgate Window Release Relay can only be energized when the gear selector is in the "PARK" or "NEUTRAL" position.

When the Endgate Window Release Relay is energized, its contacts close, and voltage is applied to the Endgate Window Release Actuator, which is case grounded. The Endgate Window will be released when the Endgate Window Release Actuator is energized.
