Saginaw Rotary Valve Power Steering Gear

DESCRIPTION
The Saginaw rotary valve steering gear incorporates a recirculating ball system in which steel balls act as a rolling thread between a steering worm shaft and the rack piston.

Variable Effort Steering (VES) or Speed Sensitive Steering (SSS) is a power steering system that consists of a Central Control Module (CCM), power steering solenoid actuator and a steering wheel rotational sensor. As vehicle wheel speed increases, the flow rate to the power steering gear is reduced to enhance road feel and directional stability. When the maximum steering assist is needed, flow rate is increased to allow for increased maneuverability.
