Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights Dimming
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSISWARNING: The SIR driver deployment loop (CKT 347 and 348) passes through connector C200. You must take special precautions before servicing connector C200. Disable the SIR system before you disconnect, probe, or service connector C200. Refer to "Disabling the SIR System" in Air Bag and Seat Belts. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs. Air Bag Systems
1. Check the TAIL LPS Fuse by turning the Headlamp Switch to "PARK" and observing that the Park Lamps come on.
2. If none of the Instrument Panel lamps come on and the TAIL LPS Fuse is OK, check the INST LPS Fuse.
3. If only one Instrument Panel lamp does not come on, check bulb, connections, and related wiring for an open.
^ Refer to Instrument Panel access. Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (See Diagnostic Aids for General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
