Oil Life
The instrument cluster shall read oil life from the serial data line. The instrument cluster shall display a number received from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in percentages. When 0% oil life is reached, the instrument cluster shall extinguish the % units and display the word LOW. If the oil life mode was not selected by the driver upon entering the low oil life mode, then the instrument cluster shall override the mode being displayed and select the oil life mode. The driver may, however, override the low oil life mode by selecting another mode. If the ignition is cycled, the instrument cluster shall re-enter it as if it calculated it for the first time. The RESET button will transmit (while in oil life mode) the reset signal back to the PCM via the class II serial data line.
