Section 8C - Revised Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement Procedure

Models:
1997 Buick Century, Regal

This bulletin is being issued to revise the Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement Procedure in Section 8C of the Service Manual.

Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement

Important:
When the Body Control Module (BCM) is replaced, you must perform new BCM setup. Refer to Body Control Module in Section 8A-51 of the Service Manual for new BCM setup.

Remove or Disconnect

1. Battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Section 6D1 of the Service Manual.

2. Left instrument panel insulator. Refer to "Instrument Panel Insulator" in Section 8C of the Service Manual.

3. BCM electrical connectors.

4. BCM by pressing the retaining tab in and sliding the BCM down out of the mounting bracket.

Install or Connect

1. BCM by sliding it up into the mounting bracket until it stops (insure that the retaining tab will stop the BCM from sliding down and out of the mounting bracket).

2. BCM electrical connectors.

3. Left instrument panel insulator. Refer to "Instrument Panel Insulator" in Section 8C of the Service Manual.

4. Battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Section 6D1 of the Service Manual.

5. Perform new BCM setup. Refer to Body Control Module in Section 8A-51 of the Service Manual for new BCM setup.
