Front Caster Adjustment
^ Tools Required:
- Electric Drill
- 11/32 inch Drill Bit
- Round File
Prepare top strut mounting holes as follows:
1. Remove strut housing tie bar by loosening four through-bolts and removing the left and right inboard strut nuts.
2. Remove remaining top strut nuts and washers.
3. Lift front of vehicle by body to separate strut from inner wheelhouse.
4. Drill two 11/32 inch holes at front and rear, of oval strut mounting hole on left and right strut towers.
5. File excess metal to make slotted holes.
6. Paint exposed metal with rust preventive primer and paint.
7. Lower front of vehicle.
8. Reinstall tie bar on left and right inboard strut studs. Install strut attaching nuts, but do not tighten them at this time.
Adjust:
^ Caster by moving top of strut forward or rearward. A 1 mm (0.040 inch) position change at the tower is about equal to 0.1° change in caster.
Tighten:
^ Strut attaching nuts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
^ Tie bar through-bolts to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
