B1652 Keep Alive Memory (KAM) Error
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONDiagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) B1652 indicates that the keep alive - or "long term" -memory in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) has been reset. It is a normal occurrence whenever power or ground is removed from the IPC, such as battery disconnected and reconnected.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
DTC IPC B1652 indicates that the keep alive, or battery-backed memory has been reset. It is a normal occurrence whenever power or ground is removed from the IPC, such as anytime the battery has been disconnected and reconnected.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DCT SETS WHEN THE DTC SETS (BY IPC)
When this DTC is set, IPC KAM data (Trip Odometer) is reset to initial values. Average Fuel Economy and Fuel Used will be reset to zero.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If DTC IPC B1652 sets without a battery disconnect, ensure good terminal contacts at power feed at terminal "B3" and ground at terminal "A12." If power and Ground are OK Replace the IPC.
