B1656 IPC EEPROM Odometer Error

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) B1656 indicates that the odometer portion of the IPC EEPROM, which stores the vehicle mileage, has an unrecoverable error in it and is no longer accurate.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DCT SETS (BY IPC)
"ERROR" will be displayed in place of the mileage on the Season Odometer whenever this DTC is current.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
The IPC must be replaced. Refer to the most recent service information to obtain an approximate mileage and contact an authorized Delco service center. The failed IPC may be used by the service center to obtain the approximate odometer data for the replacement IPC.
