DTC DDM U1170 - Loss Of Driver Door Switch Simple Bus Serial Data:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Simple Bus Interface (SBI) (CKT 217, LT BLU) provides a communications path from the Passenger Door Module, Rear Door Module, Driver Door Switch (DDS) and the Driver Door Module (DDM). The Driver Door Module contains both switch message decoding software and SBI circuits enabling it to relay messages between the Door Switch and the other Door Modules over the SBI. The Driver Door Switch is a "smart" switch in that it communicates all switching information as serial digital data over the Simple Bus Interface, CKT 217 (LT BLU).

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
^ Any SBI communications problem between the DDS and DDM will cause this Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) to be set.
^ DTCs B1982 (Battery Voltage High) and B1983 (Battery Voltage Low) must not be current or the diagnostic will not run.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
Loss of the SBI will cause the loss of all power functions on all Doors. This includes power windows and power door locks. The door lock buttons and key locks will still function normally.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE MIL/DTC
This code will clear automatically when the SBI becomes operational again.
