Accessory Delay Module: Description and Operation

Retained Accessory Power (RAP) allows the Radio, Cell Phone and Sunroof to be operated for approximately 10 minutes after the ignition switch is turned "OFF."

When the ignition switch is turned to "ACCY" or "RUN," voltage is applied from the I/P Bussed Electrical Center (BEC) "RFARSEN" Fuse to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module. The RFA Module grounds terminal 86 of the RAP Relay. The RAP Relay energizes, supplying power to the Rear Bussed Electrical Center (BEC) "RDO/PH" Fuse and the "SUNRF" Fuse (if equipped).

When the ignition switch is turned to "OFF," the voltage through the I/P Bussed Electrical Center (BEC) "RFARSEN" Fuse to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA)
Module is removed. The RFA Module continues to ground terminal 86 of the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Relay for approximately 10 minuets or until any passenger compartment door is opened. After 10 minutes or if any passenger compartment door is opened the RFA Module removes ground from terminal 86 of the RAP Relay, removing power from the Rear Bussed Electrical Center (BEC) "RDO/PH" Fuse and the "SUNRF" Fuse (if equipped). The RFA Module receives passenger compartment door status from the Drivers Door Module (DDM) via CLASS 2 Serial Data Line.
