Powertrain Control Module

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) verifies the fuel continue password received from the PASS-Key (R) III module via Class 2 Bus to determine if the vehicle should be allowed to start. If the fuel continue password is invalid or not received, the PCM does not allow the vehicle to start. If the correct fuel continue password is received, the PCM allows fuel injection operation and enables the starter relay allowing normal engine operation.

The PCM has some diagnostic features associated with the PASS-Key (R) III fuel continue input, including diagnostic trouble codes. Refer to Engine Controls for details. Computers and Control Systems
