Pass Key (R) III System Components:

The ignition key for PASS-Key (R) III equipped vehicles is a typical ignition key blank with a built in transponder in the plastic coated end of the key. The ignition key is black in color. The key blank transponders are not serviceable separately. The ignition key also has mechanical cuts similar to non-PASS-Key (R) III ignition keys. The system also has a valet key which is gray in color and can start the vehicle and open the doors, but cannot open the I/P storage compartment, rear storage compartment, or the rear compartment valet lock out switch on the I/P.
^ When servicing the PASS-Key (R) III system, obtain all ignition keys if possible.
