Steering Column Lock Cylinder, and Pass-Key (R) III Module

It is not necessary to match the replacement PASS-Key (R) III module to the ignition key. The replacement PASS-Key (R) III module automatically "learns" the ignition key transponder value of the First key used to turn the ignition on. The ignition key code is "learned" permanently, so caution should be used to ensure that unwanted key transponder values are not "learned".

Additional keys can be "learned" using the Quick Learn procedure.

If a fault is detected in the system wiring, or if a defective key is used, the replacement module does not "learn" the key code and the "SECURITY" indicator will stay on solid when the ignition is on to indicate a fault.
