Volume Control (VOL)

A single multi-function rotary/push control provides both on-off power and volume control functions. The volume control portion of the switch is a continuous rotary detent type with 36 detents per revolution. The volume can be increased or decreased over a range of 64 possible steps. This function will not be available during radio conditions that do not permit audio output (such as when actively "seeking/scanning" in tuner or tape modes). The volume control will function the same in both BOSE (R) and non BOSE (R) applications. The radio display is not affected by volume changes. The volume function is replicated on the steering wheel control with separate volume buttons. Each momentary button closure will cause the volume to increase or decrease by one step. Pressing either one of these buttons, will cause the volume to change at a rate of 12 steps per second.
