Remote Function Actuator

RFA Actuator:






Remove Or Disconnect

1. Lower electrical connector.
2. Two push in retainers securing RFA module to bottom of package shelf.

Install or Connect

1. Retainers for RFA module onto package shelf.
2. Electrical connector.
3. Connect TECH 2.
4 Turn ignition "ON."
5. Select Diagnostics "F0."
6. Select model year (MY).
7. Select vehicle type.
8. Select system "F1" Body.
9. Select GM product line, i.e "C."
10. Select GM nameplate, i.e. "Buick."
11. Select Remote Function Actuator, "F0."
12. Select special functions; "F2."
13. Select set options, "F1."

Important
^ Follow screen prompts and instructions.
^ Use the "EXIT" key to change from one function screen to another. Do not use the "YES" or "NO" keys. if "YES" or "NO" is pressed other features may become disabled.

14. Scroll through screens until desired function is displayed, select on each function that needs to be enabled for the particular vehicle RPO.

RPO Options For RFA Reprogramming:





^ Use the illustrated RPO chart and select the functions that are standard or optional for the particular vehicle being serviced. Failure to program the RFA module properly will cause the system to malfunction causing misdiagnosis and customer complaints.
^ When selecting functions on a new RFA module on a vehicle that has Theft Deterrent (UA6), you must go into Option 3 on TECH 2. will appear as your only selection, select , then Save Options and Exit the system. if this function is not reset, the 30 second Theft lamp illumination will be reduced to two seconds. Misdiagnosis of the Theft Deterrent system may occur if this function is not set properly.

15. Exit system.
16. Disconnect TECH 2.
17. Program transmitters.
