Troubleshooting Hints

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Always check terminal contact before replacing any component.
2. If the driver memory mirror is inoperative, check DRVMDL Fuse in the Rear Power Distribution Center. If fuse is blown, check for short to ground in ORN (CKT 1540).
3. If the passenger memory mirror is inoperative, check PASSMDL Fuse in the Rear Power Distribution Center. If fuse is blown, check for short to ground in ORN (CKT 740).
4. If Power Mirrors operate from the Keyless Entry Transmitter but do not operate from door memory switches, check the memory switch ground circuit, BLK (CKT 350).
5. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage check (Refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures).
6. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems. (Refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
7. There are no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for the outside rear view mirrors, however any Driver Door Module (DDM) DTCs may affect the mirror operation and should be cleared prior to diagnosis of the mirrors.
8. The scan tool may be used to access parameters of both mirrors with DDM Outputs selected.
