Power Seat Memory

Motor Box:




Each memory seat function is controlled by a permanent magnet motor:

Each motor moves its respective part of the seat when voltage is supplied to it. The direction the motor turns depends on the polarity of the supply voltage as sent by the Memory Seat Module (MSM).

Each motor (except the head restraint) has an associated position sensor. These sensors are potentiometers linked to each motor. As a motor rotates it directly varies the potentiometer resistance.
