Power Seats
The Park Avenue base level power seat, 55/45 style (AQ7) or 45/45 style with console (A66) is standard on the Park Avenue. The base level power seat may have option codes W01 or W02 installed. The W01 option consists of a combination of power lumbar (AL2), seat heat (KA1) and articulating headrests (left and right). The W02 option is a 5-passenger arrangement, consisting of front bucket seats and a rear bench seat. There are five reversible motors that operate each power seat.

A two-segment seat switch, located on each seat, directly controls the five motors located on that seat. Power for both seats is provided through a circuit breaker in the Rear Bussed Electrical Center. Each motor contains its own electronic circuit breaker (PTC) which will trip at the end of travel. It resets only after voltage is removed from the motor.
Seat Cushion
The front and back of each seat are operated by different motors. They can be raised or lowered independently of each other. The seat cushion follows the movement of the horizontal portion of the seat switch. When this portion of the switch is twisted, the seat motors will try to move the seat cushion to match the switch position. When the entire horizontal seat switch is pushed to the "UP" or "DOWN" position, both motors run to move the front and back of the seat at the same time.
The forward/back motor is operated by the entire horizontal portion of the seat switch. When it is held in the "FORWARD" position, the motor runs to drive the seat forward until the switch is released. When the switch is held in the "BACK" position, the motor runs to drive the seat backward until the switch is released. The "BACK" position works similar to the "FORWARD" position, except the polarity of the voltage to the motor is reversed. This reversed polarity causes the motor to run in the opposite direction.
Seat Back
The recline function works off of the vertical portion of the seat switch. The seat back follows the switch movement to either recline towards the horizontal or rise toward the vertical position.
Seat Back
The Head Restraint Switch is a part of the seat back (vertical) section of the seat switch. The Head Restraint follows the switch movement. Raising the switch will cause the headrest to rise and lowering the switch will cause the headrest to go down.
