The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) contains a microprocessor as part of the Instrument Panel Assembly. The IPC can recognize operational malfunctions, alert the driver through indicators or Driver information Center messages and store Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) which identify malfunction areas for the technician. Refer to Diagnostic Operation for more information on using the diagnostic function of the IPC.

In order to perform all of these functions, the IPC microprocessor has its own inputs, outputs and program software.
