With/Without Air Bag Deployment-Component Inspection

After any collision, inspect the following components as indicated. If you detect any damage, replace the component. If you detect any damage to the mounting points or mounting hardware, repair the component or replace the hardware as needed.

^ The steering column - Dimensionally inspect per Checking Steering Column for Accident Damage in Tilt Steering Column, Column Shift Unit Repair. Refer to Steering.
^ The inflatable restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) - Determine the need for replacement based upon the following Sensor Replacement Guidelines.
^ The I/P knee bolsters and mounting points - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ The I/P cross car beam - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ The steering column support bracket - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ The I/P braces - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ The I/P mounting points and brackets
^ The inflatable restraint I/P module mounting points - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ The seat belts and mounting points - Refer to Seat Belts.
