Outer Adjustment Link
^ Tool Required:- J 24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller
- Or Equivalent
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle.
2. Wheel and tire.
3. Loosen pinch bolt.
4. Cotter pin and slotted hex nut.
NOTICE: When separating a linkage joint, DO NOT try to disengage the joint by driving a wedge between the joint and the attached part. Seal damage may result.
5. Using J 24319-B, separate adjustment link from knuckle.
6. Outer adjustment link from inner adjustment link noting number of turns for assembly reference.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Outer adjustment link to inner adjustment link.
2. Outer link to control arm.
^ Tighten:
A. Nut 10 Nm (88 lb in.).
B. Nut an additional 1/2 turn. To align cotter pin, tighten no more than 1 flat.
3. Cotter pin.
^ Tighten pinch bolt to 48 Nm (35 lb ft).
4. Lubricate outer adjustment link.
5. Wheel and tire.
^ Tighten wheel nuts to 140 Nm (100 lb ft).
6. Lower vehicle.
Important: Check and set rear toe after installing adjustment link. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
