Electronic Level Control (ELC)

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.

Important: Before disconnecting air hose and air tube from air compressor, clean the components and the surrounding area to prevent dirt and other foreign material from entering Electronic Level Control (ELC) system.

2. Air tube (1) from air dryer (2).

3. Bolt (5) and harness tie (6) with air tube (1) from air compressor bracket (7).
4. Intake air filter (9) from vehicle.
5. Vehicle harness connector (L) from air compressor connector (M).
6. Two nuts (13), bolt (14), end air compressor assembly(3) from vehicle.
7. Air compressor connector (J) from connector anchor (K).
^ Slide air compressor connector away from air compressor and off of anchor.
8. Two bolts (5) and heat shield (12) from air compressor bracket (7).
9. Three bolts (15) and air compressor assembly (3) from bracket (7).

10. Air dryer from air compressor.
11. Air hose (10) from air compressor (3) at two places.
12. Two screws (16) and two brackets (17 and 18) from air compressor (3).

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Two brackets (18 and 17) on air compressor (3) with two screws (16).
^ Tighten two screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
2. Air hose (10) on air compressor (3) at two places.
3. Air dryer on air compressor.
4. Air compressor assembly (3) on bracket (7) with three bolts (15).
^ Tighten three bolts to 2.5 - 3.0 Nm (23 - 26 inch lbs.).
5. Heat shield (12) on air compressor bracket (7) with two bolts (5).
^ Do not install third heat shield bolt (5). It must be installed after air tube is connected.
6. Air compressor connector (J) to connector anchor (K).
7. Air compressor assembly (3) on vehicle with two nuts (13) and bolt (14).
^ Tighten:
- Bolt to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
- Two nuts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
8. Harness connector (L) to air compressor connector (M).
9. Intake air filter (9) on vehicle.
10. Air tube (1) to air dryer (2).
11. Air tube (1) with harness tie (6) to air compressor bracket (4) with bolt (5).
^ Tighten three bolts (5) to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
12. Lower vehicle.

Important: Before driving vehicle, turn ignition on and wait approximately 45 seconds. This will permit the ELC system to execute the Air Replenishment Cycle (ARC), ensuring that the air adjustable shock absorbers are filled with, at least, residual pressure.
