Autolearn Mode
The Low Tire Pressure Warning system operates between 15 and 90 miles per hour (mph). This speed range is broken into three operating ranges; 15-40 mph, 40-65 mph and 65-90 mph. The system has two autolearn (calibration) modes. During the initial autolearn mode, no pressure monitoring is done. Ten minutes of wheel speed data is examined for each of the three operating ranges and the
tires' normal rolling characteristics are determined. The ten minutes of wheel speed data does not have to be taken contiguously, and may take place over multiple driving cycles. This means that one or more speed ranges may be uncalibrated or partially calibrated (initial only). After the initial autolearn cycle is complete, the system switches to the second autolearn mode. During the second autolearn mode, the system repeats its calculations over a three minute period for each of the operating ranges. The calibration repeats as needed until two consecutive calculations have the same answer. At this point, calibration ceases.
