Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Sensitivity

The Low Tire Pressure Warning system has two leak detection sensitivities. Following the initial calibration, sensitivity is approximately 12 psi. After the second calibration, full sensitivity of 10 psi is achieved. Note that the three operating ranges overlap. At 27.5mph, the 40 to 65 mph range starts to overlap the 15-40mph range. At 52.5 mph, the 65 to 90 mph range begins to overlap the 40-65 mph range segment. At speeds above the overlap points, both overlapping ranges must be calibrated to have the most sensitivity.
