DTC B2805 RFA Programming/Diagnostic Mode Message Not Received:
DTC B2805 RFA Programming/Diagnostic Mode Message Not Received:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Body Control Module (BCM) has the ability to enable the transmitter programming/diagnostic mode (refer to Keyless Entry for entering this mode) of this receiver. The BCM will detect and prevent message collisions on the RFA link. The BCM also receives programming signals from the RCDLR when attempting to enable transmitter programming/diagnostic mode. When the BCM expects to receive a program signal from the RCDLR and it does not after 2 unsuccessful tries, a DTC trouble code will be set.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
^ The BCM receives programming signals from the RCDLR when attempting to enable transmitter programming/diagnostic mode, and
^ The BCM expects to receive a program signal from the RCDLR and it does not after 2 unsuccessful tries.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ Stores a DTC B2805 in the BCM memory.
^ No driver warning message will be displayed for this DTC.
^ RCDLR does not enter transmitter programming diagnostic mode.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ Under all fault conditions, the ignition switch must be cycled from the OFF position to the RUN position before this DTC can change from current to history.
^ A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
^ Using a scan tool.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction to occur:
- An intermittent open in circuit 917.
- Poor connections at the BCM, or the RCDLR.
- The BCM or the RCDLR open internally.
^ The BCM only checks for DTC B2805 when attempting to enable transmitter programming/diagnostic mode (refer to Keyless Entry for information on bow to enter this mode). Keyless Entry
^ DTC P1626 will set in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when the ignition switch is in the RUN position with the BCM disconnected.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
1. Always perform the BCM Diagnostic System Check before attempting to diagnose a DTC B2805.
2. Checks for communication between the BCM and the RCDLR when entering the transmitter programming/diagnostic mode.
3. Checks for DTC B2805 to set again when entering the transmitter programming/diagnostic mode.
4. Checks for communication between the BCM and the RCDLR when using keyfob.
6. Checks for a faulty RCDLR or BCM.
