Remote Activation Verification System Operation

RKE Transmitter:

There are two ways to customize the remote activation verification features.
The first is by using a scan tool.
^ With the scan tool hooked up to the Data Link Connector (DLC) the first menu on the scan tool will be the MAIN MENU. Select the PERSONALIZATION MODULE feature. This will take the scan tool to the PERSONALIZATION MAIN MENU. Select the SET OPTIONS feature. This will take the scan tool to the SET OPTIONS MAIN MENU. Select the VERIFY UNLOCK MODE or VERIFY LOCK MODE feature. This will allow the vehicle to be programmed.

The second way is by following this procedure: The ignition switch needs to be in RUN, all doors closed, and the driver's door lock switch held in the UNLOCK position (for unlock modes) or LOCK position (for lock modes). The chime bongs 1-4 times to indicate what feature customization mode the vehicle is in. Each time the UNLOCK button (for unlock mode) or the LOCK button (for lock mode) is pressed on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, the chime bongs a number of times equal to the current customization mode number as shown below:
1. Mode 1: Remote lock and unlock confirmation are disabled.
2. Mode 2:
^ Remote Lock Confirmation: When you use the RKE transmitter to lock your vehicle, your park lamps will flash briefly to let you know when your command is received.
^ Remote Unlock Confirmation: When you use the RKE transmitter to unlock your vehicle. your park lamps will flash briefly to let you know when your command is received.
3. Mode 3:
^ Remote Lock Confirmation: When you use the RKE transmitter to lock your vehicle, the horn will sound briefly and your park lamps will flash briefly to let you know when your command is received.
^ Remote Unlock Confirmation: When you use the RKE transmitter to unlock your vehicle, your park lamps will flash briefly to let you know when your command is received.
4. Mode 4:
^ Remote Lock Confirmation: When you use the RKE transmitter to lock your vehicle, your park lamps will flash briefly to let you know when your command is received. The horn will sound briefly and the park lamps will flash briefly if you press the LOCK button on the RKE transmitter again within 5 seconds.
^ Remote Unlock Confirmation: When you use the RKE transmitter to unlock your vehicle, your park lamps will flash briefly to let you know when your command is received.

Each time the UNLOCK (for unlock modes) or the LOCK button (for lock modes) is pressed on the RKE transmitter the mode number will advance. A transition past mode 4 will repeat starting again at mode 1. To exit and save the current customization, release the driver's door lock switch.
