Drum Brake Adjustment
1. Adjust rear brake shoe and lining.2. Apply parking brake to the fully seated position, and release. Repeat 5 times.
3. Check parking brake pedal for full release.
a. Turn ignition to "ON" and check that "BRAKE" indicator lamp is off.
b. If lamp is on and the brake appears to be released, make sure pedal is in release mode and fully returned to stop. Pull downward on the front parking brake cable to remove slack.
4. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
5. Adjust parking brake by turning nut on equalizer while spinning both rear wheels. When either rear wheel develops drag, stop adjusting and back off equalizer nut one full turn.
6. Apply parking brake to 4 clicks and check rear wheel rotation. Wheel should not move when one attempts to rotate it by hand in a forward direction. Wheel should drag or not move when attempting to rotate in a rearward direction.
7. Release parking brake and check for free wheel rotation. If rear wheels rotate after this procedure has been completed. Adjust parking brake shoe and lining.
8. Lower vehicle.
