Installation

1. Install the engine. Align the engine with the engine to transaxle dowel pins.
2. Install the upper transaxle-to-engine bolts. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
4. Install the lower transaxle-to-engine bolts. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
5. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
6. Install the three way catalytic converter pipe to the manifold. See Powertrain Management.
7. Install the engine mount nuts to the frame.
8. Install the transaxle brace. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
9. Install the flex plate-to-torque converter bolts. Align the scribe marks.
10. Install the starter motor. See Starting and Charging.
11. Install the flex plate cover. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Connect the heater hoses to the engine. See Heating and Air Conditioning.
14. Connect the lower radiator hose to the engine. See Cooling System.
15. Connect the upper radiator hose to the engine. See Cooling System.
16. Install the electrical connections to the engine. See Powertrain Management.
17. Install the A/C compressor to the engine. See Heating and Air Conditioning.
18. Install the power steering pump. See Steering and Suspension.
19. Install the vacuum booster hose to the engine. See Powertrain Management.
20. Install the vacuum line to the transaxle vacuum modulator. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
21. Install the engine cooling fans. See Cooling System.
22. Install the engine mount strut brackets to the upper radiator support.
23. Install the engine mount struts to the engine mount struts brackets.
24. Connect the throttle and cruise cables with the mounting bracket to the throttle body. See Powertrain Management.
25. Connect the fuel lines to the rail and the mounting bracket. See Powertrain Management.
26. Install the air cleaner duct.
27. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
29. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
30. Install the hood. See Body and Frame.
31. Fill the cooling system with coolant. See Cooling System.
32. Fill the engine with oil.
33. Inspect all of the fluid levels.
34. Inspect for leaks.
