Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

General Description

The headlamps are controlled by the headlamp switch located on the left side of the instrument panel. Pulling the headlamp knob out halfway will turn on the parking/turn signal lamps. Pulling the headlamp knob out all the way will and it will turn on the headlamps.

The high-beam headlamp operation is controlled with the turn signal and headlamp dimmer switch cruise control actuator and windshield washer and wiper lever on the steering column. To change headlamp operation from low beam to high beam (or high beam to low beam), pull the turn signal and headlamp dimmer switch cruise control actuator and windshield washer and wiper lever to the full back position (until the detent is felt) and release. The high-beam indicator (blue) in the instrument cluster will light during high-beam headlamp operation. The turn signal arid headlamp dimmer switch cruise control actuator and windshield washer and wiper lever can also be used to "flash to pass." In order to flash to pass, pull the turn signal and headlamp dimmer switch cruise control actuator and windshield washer and wiper lever back until both low-beam and high-beam headlamps are lit-but not past the detent. Low-beam headlamp operation will resume by releasing the turn signal and headlamp dimmer switch cruise control actuator arid windshield washer and wiper lever to its original position.
