Enabling the SIR System

Description:

INSTALL OR CONNECT

^ Remove the key from the ignition switch.
1. Passenger yellow 2-way connector and the CPA located near the base of the steering column.
2. Driver yellow 2-way connector and the CPA located at the base of the steering column.
3. I/P insulator (left side).
4. AIR BAG Fuse (Buick) or SIR Fuse (Pontiac) to the I/P fuse block.
^ Staying well away from both air bags, turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. Verify that the AIR BAG warning lamp flashes seven times and then stays off. If the AIR BAG warning lamp does not operate as described, perform the SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. Testing and Inspection
