Aluminum Wheels

NOTICE: Special care must be taken when removing tires from aluminum wheels or cosmetic damage could result. When mounting tires, use an approved tire mounting compound. The use of silicon base compounds or corrosive type compounds is strictly prohibited. Silicon base compound can cause the tire to slip on the rim. Corrosive type compound can cause tire and/or rim deterioration.

The tire should be removed and installed over the curb-side bead seat. Machines not having a flat bed for the wheel to rest on can cause cosmetic damage to the wheel when being clamped down. The bottom bead breaker on some machines can also cause cosmetic damage.

Most tire changing equipment manufacturers have aluminum wheel adapter kits and plastic or Teflon coated tools which prevent cosmetic damage. Even with these kits some machines will require modification.
