Battery Ground (Negative) Cable Disconnect/Connect

CAUTION: Refer to Service Precautions.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Record all of the vehicle preset radio stations (if applicable).
2. Record the customer's radio THEFTLOCK (R) code (if applicable).
3. Turn all lamps and accessories "OFF".
4. Battery ground (negative) cable from battery.
Clean
^ Any existing oxidation from the contact face of the battery terminal and battery cable using a wire brush before installing the battery cable to the battery terminal.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

NOTE: Refer to Service Precautions.

1. Battery ground (negative) cable to battery.
Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).
2. Unlock the THEFTLOCK (R) radio (if applicable).
3. Program the radio stations back into the radio as recorded at beginning of this procedure (if applicable).
4. Set the clock to the current time.
