Condition

Some vehicles equipped with automatic temperature control (RPO CJ2) may experience an HVAC blower motor run on condition after the ignition is turned off. This condition can occur approximately once every 1400 ignition cycles. Cycling the ignition switch back to the "ON" position will stop the blower motor from running.

Cause

This run on condition was found in the software of the CJ2 HVAC Control Assembly.

Correction

Replace the Control Assembly following the procedures in the appropriate section of the Service Manual.
