B2806
DTC B2806 RFA Link Parity Error:
DTC B2806 RFA Link Parity Error:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Body Control Module (BCM) receives a message from the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) indicating which operation needs to be accomplished. If the BCM detects a parity error from the RCDLR, a fault condition is present and a DTC will set.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
^ BCM detects a message with a parity error it does not recognize from the RCDLR.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ Stores a DTC B2806 in the BCM memory.
^ No driver warning message will be displayed for this DTC.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ A current DTC B2806 is cleared automatically at the end of conclusion of the message containing the parity error.
^ A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
^ Using a scan tool.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction to occur:
- RCDLR does not send a correct signal to the BCM.
- An intermittent open in circuit 917.
^ DTC P1626 will set in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when the ignition switch is in the RUN position with the BCM disconnected.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
1. Always perform the BCM Diagnostic System Check before attempting to diagnose a DTC 132806.
2. Checks for the operation of keyfob transmitter functions on the vehicle.
3. Checks if this DTC sets again after the operation of keyfob transmitter functions.
4. Checks for an open or high resistance in circuit 917.
6. Checks for an open or high resistance in circuit 917.
7. Checks the ability of the BCM to operate the power door locks.
10. Perform the diagnostics for this DTC when certain DTCs are diagnosed first.
