Piston Pin: Service and Repair

TOOL REQUIRED
^ J 24086-C Piston Pin Remover/Installer





REMOVAL
1. Place the piston and the connecting rod assembly into the Piston Pin Remover/Installer and press out the piston pin.
2. Ensure that the flat side or inside of the piston is up when installing the piston and rod assembly into the fork.

INSTALLATION
1. Place the piston and connecting rod into the Piston Pin Remover/Installer Set.

CAUTION: Ensure that the arrow on top of the piston faces towards the front of the engine.

2. Coat the piston pin with clean engine oil.
3. Press the piston pin into place.
4. Inspect the piston for freedom of movement.
