Ignition Cable: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
NOTICE: Pull on spark plug boot or heat shield only, twisting a half turn to release seal while removing. Do not pull on the spark plug wire or it may be damaged.
1. Turn the ignition to "OFF."
Important: Note position of wires and wire looms before removing.
2. Spark plug wire(s) from front spark plug(s) by twisting the boot 1/2 turn before removing.
3. Spark plug wire retaining clips from engine.
4. Spark plug wire(s) from rear spark plug(s).
5. Spark plug wire retaining clips from rear of engine.
6. Spark plug wire(s) from coil(s).
7. Spark plug wire(s) from engine.
Important: If replacing the spark plug wires, transfer any of the following:
- Spark plug wire conduit.
- Spark plug wire retaining clips.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Spark plug wire(s) to engine.
2. Spark plug wire(s) to coil(s).
3. Spark plug wire(s) to rear spark plug(s).
4. Spark plug wire retaining clips to rear of engine.
5. Spark plug wire(s) to front spark plug(s).
6. Spark plug wire retaining clips to front of engine.
