Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) is a microprocessor controlled device that is responsible for controlling the UART data line as well as various telltales and gages. Much of the display information given by the IPC is supplied via serial communication. Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick Instrument Panel Clusters have the following features and functions:The gages include:

^ 195 (120 MPH) analog display speedometer (Metric -Canada) (Buick and Oldsmobile)
^ Analog display fuel gage
^ Analog display engine coolant temperature gage

^ Trip odometer
^ Tachometer (Up-level only)
