Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
Remove or disconnect the following:
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support. Allow front suspension to hang free.
2. Front tire and wheel assemblies.
3. Nuts attaching stabilizer shafts to stabilizer links.
4. Clamps attaching stabilizer shaft to suspension support assemblies.
5. Rear and center bolts from suspension support assemblies, and loosen front bolts.
6. Stabilizer shaft with insulators.
INSTALLATION
Install or connect the following:
1. Stabilizer shaft with insulators into vehicle.
2. Clamps attaching stabilizer shaft to suspension support assemblies (hand tighten).
3. Suspension support assemblies into position and install bolts (hand tighten).
4. Nuts attaching stabilizer shaft to stabilizer links.
^ Tighten nut to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
5. Tighten suspension support bolts - rear first, center second, front third - to specifications.
^ Center bolts first to 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
^ Front bolts second to 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
^ Rear bolts third to 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
^ Stabilizer shaft to clamp nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
^ Stabilizer shaft to control arm nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
6. Tighten clamp nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
7. Front wheel and tire assemblies.
8. Check front wheel alignment.
