Circuit Operation

With the valet switch in the UNLOCK position, voltage is applied from Fuse 2 in the IP Junction Block, through the rear compartment lid release relay, to the rear compartment lid release switch. The switch is grounded through the park/neutral position switch when the gear selector is in PARK position. When the rear compartment lid release switch is pressed, the relay energizes and actuates the rear compartment lid release solenoid.
The solenoid releases the rear compartment lid.

The rear compartment lid release relay can also he actuated, regardless of the valet switch position, using the keyless entry transmitter. The Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module provides a ground path to energize the relay when the rear compartment lid release button on the transmitter is pressed.
